Exhaust setup Question ???

hey...im looking to upgrade my stock exhaust system. i just did a swap to the JDM b18C(GSR) and now i want to do the exhaust from headers to exhaust..i DONT want my car to be loud...i want it to be quiet at the sametime sound aggresive.. my idea was to go with JDM DC 4-1 header with test pipe into APEXi WS exhaust....do you think this would be really loud?? if yes do you think adding a resonator would bring it down to a level i would be able to live with and NOT annoy people as i drive by them...

I wouldn't go with a straight pipe, the cons out-weigh the pros for this mod.

DC headers are junk check out vibrant SS models, it's what i have, they are good cheap headers. Apexi WS cat-backs are apprently really quiet. I would also get a high-flow cat. while your at it to maximize exhaust flow.

If it is still a bit too loud, you can always get a different sized resonator

Do you have the JSPEC with the 2.5" collector or the regular one? i was reading its better to go with the 2.5" collector..let me know if this doesnt make a difference...whats a good high flow cat?

yeah I have a 2.5" collector

I also have a 2.5" high flow magnaflow cat.

Any high-flow cat will do, I paid cheap for mine cause it was a universal fit and i paid an exhaust shop to make it fit with my exhaust system.

i've also got a vibrant j-spec 4-2-1 with 2.5" collector and 2.5" high flow cat with 2.5" exhaust.
Made a big difference over the crappy DC 4-1, stock cat and 2.25" exhaust i had. But i've got a built b16...not just a stock dohc vtec.
