Exhaust???

I still don't have an exhaust on my car yet, the only reason i don't have one yet is because i travel alot, and don't want to put up with the noise for long periods of time.

I was wondering if there is an exaust that does not make too much noise under 4RPM, but sounds good after 4, since i don't drive past 4 on the highway.

Thanks

Thumbs up

I'd go w/ the Mugen dual-loop muffler

Big coin but quiet and powerful. If you don't have that kind of coin you can try a muffler that has a silencer that you can remove when you want.

it's worth every bit of coin you spend on it I have first hand experience sitting in an EK4 with it ...good gracious..it sounds BEAUTIFUL at WOT ...

www.vibrantperformance.com

Check out the exhaust systems at http://www.vibrantperformance.com

The Vibrant Performance systems give a nice low, deep exhaust tone.

They're quite throaty when revving it up or accelerating, but they are _quiet_ when you're cruising. There's no annoying drone.

You'll be _quite_ happy with one.

DC Sports has something similar called the twin canister system. I think it's cheaper than the Mugen one.

Ok you must be fairly young and new to mods for vehicles etc.

You need to GROUP your mods in order to gain maximum effectiveness.

Simply strapping on an exhaust isn't necessarily going to give you the "Extra 9 HP" advertised.

Group that exhaust system with a header and an intake and you might start to garner more and more power.

In short, seek ye performance groups that work well together.

So endeth the lesson.

Regards,
OK

yes i realize that an exhaust is not going to give me 9 hp, but i am assuming that some do give a little bit more (maybe even 1/2 hp) then others. I want to get a good one so that once i add headers and the whole deal i won't have to change exhausts

I just got a 5Zigen exhaust. Very quiet under 4000. At WOT it's louder...not raspy either.

just to clarify, the mugen is just an axle back. so if you want to maximize power gains u'll need to get some custom piping done to make it a full cat-back system. mugen is damn expensive but it probably has the sound you're looking for.

another quiet exhaust is the Apexi WS. this is probably cheaper than the mugen and it's full catback too.

I would suggest the Apex-i World Sport. I have this catback system on my EL. It is nice and quiet (almost stock sounding) in regular driving and highway driving, and has a nice, but still not too loud, sound when you really get on the gas.

sorry but I don't think it's really necessary to get custom piping with the MTL.... coz it's designed to increase low end power in mind but still have some mid-high end power ...... but if u've swapped ur engine.... then that's a different story

that's true if the exhaust is your only mod. if you dont plan on doing anything thing else then forget the custom piping. but if you want to add more performance down the road then get the piping done.
