A "poor man's Type R" setup might be what your're looking for. It consists of Accord wagon calipers, Prelude rotors and a few other parts I can't think of. Lemme search.

its a delicate thing though, if you jack your front brakes meaning larger rotors and more clamping force, you will be putting even more front brake bias into the car unless your upgrading the rear drums to disks as well. Atleast this is the way I understand it.

Its for this reason i'm personally going with Hawk HPS or HP+ front pads and stainless steel lines with Motul fluid. It keeps stock size so brake bias shouldn't be off that much, but it will have alot more "bite" then stock and a firmer pedal feel from the SS lines.

Many people upgrade, i'd just be leary of being able to lock up the fronts on a non-ABS car that much easier with larger fronts only, so i hope your replacing rear too if you are going with bigger rotors. I have no abs on my base EL and I know its really not that hard to lock them up, even with very sticky tires, I really feel the rear needs to do more but there is no way to fix that with stock drums

I donno if just putting larging front calipers would throw off the brake bias.

if you are going to go through all the trouble to upgrade your front brakes, you should also be looking at upgrading your brake booster and master cylinder, as well as the proportioning valve. I did the junkyard 11" front brake conversion on my civic. I used 94-01 integra front spindles with 93-96 prelude vtec calipers, pad brackets and rotors. In the rear I had integra disc trailing arms. Up front i had a 40/40 prop valve and a 1" MC with teg booster. the braking was very even with little front rear bias, but when you slam down your foot, that thing would clamp down like a ****. Hardcore braking, but not for everyone.

Definitley look into fluids and different conpunds for pads such as CF, kevlar etc, slotted rotors and SS brake lines. That alone could be what you are looking for

yeah, the master cyl was a HUGE improvement in my case. the 4 piston calipers require a good deal of volume fo sho.

Just so you know, your DX hatch already has 40/40 proportional valve, don't spend money on it.
