do the b20vtec last one i built was the following

b20 bottom end
rs machining type-r style pistons
blox cams (s2s2 copys)
reworked b16a head
tuned with chrome

223whp 174 wtq

not bad for under 4 gs

zeeman 30-May-2006 03:36 PM

wow 174 wtq....i'd take that instead of revving to 9k anyday.

Not really, its more of a myth with those motors that they can rev. They can rev as long as you keep it within reason. In my experiences, anything under 9000 is ok. Everybody gives these motors a bad rap, i swear by them. Take it from a guy whose built a few.

zeeman 31-May-2006 07:40 PM

arp rod bolts are super cheap as well....good peice of mind if you ask me. But i agree, b20s are a lot stronger than most people give them credit for.

1sloweg 31-May-2006 11:53 PM

Yep, most of it is all hear say... might i add, in all our b20s we build, the rods are resized for arp rod bolts.
