Dryer Tubing? Any help out there?

Hey, i have been talking to some guys about using dryer tubing to help direct air to my short ram. I have heard a couple different ways of doing it. The guy at performance improvements recommended a special intake filter with a plastic gaurd around it and it is supposed to be for connecting dryer tubing to it. apparently you hook up the tubing and tape it on there and then it is supposed to be like a cold air extension with the filter mid way. you think this would benefit me with all this crazy heat we've been getting? or should i just mount it and not connect it, but leave it angled so the air flows through. my ride has bogged down like crazy with this heat.

any ideas would be appreciated. thanks.

Wont make any damn difference, and if your ride is bogging down in this weather then you got other problems. My filter is basically attached right to the TB and I dont have any problems with bogging, and civics dont really get that hot under the hood compared to alot of cars.

I believe what you are reffering to is a comptech icebox style intake. I am currently in the process of making my own.
It basically works like a cold air intake, with the benefits of a short ram. However on mine i plan to add some extra insualtion to keep the air as cold as possible.
I know someone who has done a custom one as well, and his claims are that it not only sounds nice (slightly louder then stock) it creates more pick-up down low.
On hot days like we have had lately, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a small difference.
