DOHC better than SOHC...
why? I understand how they work, but I don't know why it produces more power by having one cam for each port, is it something to do with the timing of the valve opening and closing thus allowing better air and exhaust flow?
Someone enlighten me please Thank you

I believe cause they allow the real VTEC... i believe more can be gained from independantly operating the intake/exhaust values so the timing can be adjusted from both sides thereby increasing the amount of overlap available at high rpms...
but i could be wrong. also, how come non-VTEC dohc engines produce more power? is it just the extra 200 ml of displacement? or something more...

it's because duration can be manipulated with a DOHC where as it cannot be done with a SOHC cos it only has 1 cam. 2 cams usually=more power. look at the ZC. it's basically a d16a6 block(i said basically! not idential) but has 2 cams. it puts out 130hp compared to 108!!
