Dist. Rotor Question!

This is too late for me to ask anyways, but I might as well. I replaced the cap and rotor last week on the 2000 EX, but for the rotor, I noticed that it had to be in a certain position to get to the screw, and it seemed to have this plastic cover around it that was stubborn to get off. To get it in position, I had to crank the motor a few turns so the rotor would stop turning and have the screw within view. Did I do this right or was there a better way? I'm just asking because it takes slightly longer to crank than before, and I recall having to bust out the pen magnet to get the scew because I couldn't catch it by hand when it came off.

Also, is the Hayne's manual for my generation Civic any good? I noticed it include Integra as well, and I know some Hayne's manuals cover a certain model more than another when they combine cars. Any input? Thanks in advance,

thats the way you do it.
Haynes manuals are ok. But Helms are even better.
When haynes have multiple cars there will usually be a chapter for integra brakes, then a chapter for civic breaks. So its not like it covers one car more than the other. Haynes' are ok, but often lack details.

i have the same manual, but i drive a 94/95 civic dx hatchback. But, my motor is a 1995 gsr integra swapped. The Haynes manual is vague in many areas and I had to crank the motor a few times to get the rotor in the right place as well. but, i didn not experience any problems with starting the car afterwards. are you sure you were given the right parts? I once went to autozone here in the states and they gave me the wrong spark plug wires for my car. stupid americans, lol. Also, there is a spring in the dizzy cap, did you lose that? Get a helms manual instead.
