Question Disabling ABS

How do you disable the ABS? I drive a 98si and it just annoys the heck out of me. I want to kill the damn thing but at the same time don't wanna throw a ABS malfuntion code....if anything the red light will annoy me more lol

Any takers??

I've done something like this... there is an ABS control module you can remove, and it would be advisable to swap out to a prop valve from a non-ABS car, but you will have to add two brake lines to the mix, I'm pretty sure. No biggie, it's not a big job if you are up for it. I got a spare non-ABS prop valve if you want it.

Thanks Bbarbulo!! knew you would know what to do

Now question is, where is this located? I think i'm confident enough to tackle this myself; and if i can't find the part i'll let you know, thanks again.

I've seen it in different parts of the car... some on the pass side frame rail, others by the master cyl, then some others on the firewall. Just follow the two lines that come off the master cyl... they go into a prop valve on the firewall with 4 lines going to it... follow the OTHER two lines from the prop valve, and it'll lead you RIGHT to the ABS module... the ABS has 2 lines in, 4 lines out. You throw this in the garbage, re-route some lines back to the prop valve, and there you attach a 6 line prop valve (like I said, I got one of these), and you toss your 4 line prop valve to your dog to play with So now the prop valve has 2 lines in, 4 lines out. There is also an ABS computer somewhere in the car so you rip that out, and you remove the ABS light if it's still there. Done deal! No more pesky ABS. If you do drive the car in winter weather, it may not be such a great idea, or maybe trade your Si for a CX/DX and then mod the hell outta that with the extra money from the trade.

Not a prob. i'll look for it...been driving for 9 yrs in our god forsaken canadian winters.....never really had ABS before, so the ABS screws me up when it kicks in...i'd rather not have it

I like the power options thats why i opted for the Si, plus it had low milage/warrenty and relatively cheap when i got it. But the thought has crossed my mind about swapping for a CRX and modding the hell outta that.....

I wouldn't backdate as far as a CRX... it's getting tougher to find parts for them. I'd opt for a 92-95 hatch or a 96-00 hatch.
