CV boot replacement

I checked out the crx today, and I heard the clicking on some turns and he said it was the cv boot, he also said it has about 50,000 km before it would need replacing. Is this true, or once you hear the slight clicking does it mean it should be replaced asap.

thanks.

not sure Matt..i've been outta the biz for over 12 years now..
my guess is it's probably an outer (inners rarely go) so what i'd do is call around for a quote or two..
or call a jobber and ask for a price on the part..you could probably get away with doing it yourself if your inclined at all??

hmmmm..is this guy in the business??
how's he know it's still good for 50k??
is he talking from experience?? has it happened before..hmmmmm??

matt,

do you have a CRX now?

i had the same problem with my 4th Gen Dx. it's not the CV boot, but the CV shaft. i got mine replaced at a place that i trust...they do all my work...Si Performance in Brampton.

i think to replace one side shaft it was like $175 or something, and it came with a new boot.

it doesn't need to be replace asap, but why wait?? if you have the $$ do it now. i waited three months, but it started to really **** me off.
