Ya know, this brings to mind a prank to play on someone you don't like.
Throw a ping pong ball in their gastank. The ball sits on the bottom of the tank until the car runs for a couple of minutes. Then it slowly gets pulle to the pump pickup and kills the flow and the car dies.
Don't think it will work on a Honda because of the filter sock.
Take the pump out of the tank (easy) and check the sock for crud.
Cliff notes: What Bruno said.

it may still prime, but not have strength to supply the engine
odds are he can prolly hear it prime
SilverCRXSi.... research to see if other pumps will fit your tank. I haven't found much, but I think if you visit 4th gen forums they may know more. Also, you can invest $50 in a B&M fuel pressure gauge like I did or borrow someone's... it's a real easy swap if you wanna borrow someone's

Ok I actually read all of the replies now
It seems like you just have a faulty or clogged fuel pump.
Why research if other pumps fit, why not the pump for the actual car
A fuel pressure gauge is a pretty good idea though

Thanks for the extra help guys.
Yes this applies to 4th gens (EF Series)
When I turn on my car I can't hear the fuel pump at all. We also tried to see if if was just my car and we could hear it in jaysi's car.
I don't know anyone with a fuel pressure gauge, but I will see if CT has loaner one (although I doubt it)
By fuel pressure gauge swap do you mean getting a fuel pressure regulator? Or just simply replacing the fuel pump?
I've heard CRX fuel pumps are about $200.

On a side note, how hard is it to install a fuel pressure gauge?
