Cold Air Intake

I was looking on Ebay and I found a cold air intake for around 30 bucks.. They claimed it adds upto 10 horse.. Is this actually true or just some gimmic to sell their product??

Along with that I found a set if slick clear bumper lenses on Ebay going for like 5 bucks for the pair. But they wanted 35 bucks to **** them over here.. Anyone know any places where I can find these here for the same price??

It'll probably add 5-10 in a certain rpm range and you'll lose some power in other spots provided you use a performance air filter.

Dude you'd be lucky to gain 1hp at the wheels in a civic. Remember it takes power to make power. Its mostly for sound and looks.

It gives you better throttle response and gives you a bit more power in the higher rpm's but you lose some torque. This what I heard.

it adds noise.

the only way it will help you make power is if you do engine mods like turbo or n/a which will require more air to go into your engine.

an intake on a stock engine will not give you 10 hp.. it might make it possible for your other mods to extract the most power possible.

intake with a full exhaust will help a bit... the up to 10 hp gained is if you completely modded everything else that works with it.

I got a CAI because when I got my civic, it depressed me a lot. with the air intake, it's sound like a respectable engine.

deep and raspy...
