D15b vtec and D16z6 are almost the same thing in terms of power, you will not notice any difference. Just get whatever you can find cheaper. I got the D15b vtec because it was readily available and i didnt have to pay a lot for it. i got the motor, tranny, ecu, shift linkage (needed for auto to manual conversion) with 30 day warranty for 600 cash, 100 from that was the shift linkage, so the swap itself was 500.

Like he said..you won't notice much of a difference. If you are gonna go with either one of these motors, I suggest you pay more attention to which transmission you are gonna be using. Get an Si tranny or the rare but worthy d15b lsd tranny. I wouldn't recommend using the tranny you have now. This is where you will notice the most difference.

D15b = Z6 same head stamp just different block and check this the rods aren't those pencil thin b2/b7/b8 rods which are weak sauce. D15b less miles on average and usually very very clean as compared to those d16z6's which most have a ton of miles and are full of caked on crap and bottoms ends which are worn. If you plan on doing a full rebuild then get the z6 which has been proven to be a strong motor once boosted can handle 190-200 whp if your lucky with a good tune. The z6 built will get you oodles of power for the track. The d15b still hasn't been used as much as the more common z6 but as we speek someones bound to be boostin 1 of those bad boys. Lemme know if you need anything else and **** I can get you a d15b head for about 60 USD lmao thats a dime a dozen gotta love d-series.

d15 aftermarket internals are pricy as hell compared to d16s.

I've created a photo gallery to store all the pictures taken so far. I'll post as many others as I can during the entire engine swap, and any other upgrades. Here is the link:
