if he still insists on cutting them, hey....not my car so go to er but know ahead its the half assed way to **** up your ride, get in trouble with the law (ERASE and programs like that target lowered cars, they've stated that on TV hundred times) and you still need an alignment when lowered, and if your friend can't afford $150 springs, I doubt he can afford $80 for an alignment...so he'll **** up his tires too.

What's this "ERASE" program?

ERASE and PACER are the same. google it and you'll see alot of info. They've already said being lowered is not the problem (provided its not too low the tires can't turn without hitting the fenders as HTA), they are after cars lowered with cut springs. They've specifically said this, "cut springs" so as long as you have aftermarket springs, shouldn't be a problem at all.
Other illegal mods, ie no Catalytic converter, exhausts that are obnoxiously loud, blue or red on the front of the car, tires with no tread...like RA-1's well used...you get the idea. NOS hooked up etc

ERASE = eliminate street racing everywhere
and PACER is same idea.

well, i used to have cut springs on stock suspension... on my 96 ek hatch... and well, the ride was pretty decent... except for the occassional bottoming out if i didn't pay attention...

but, i switched to kyb agxs... and when that **** is set to anything decent... it is rough... u can put it to soft and the ride is much better, but u don;t have the responsiveness that u get with the other harder settings... well, thats my thought... my chopped springs were decent............................................ .............. after a long while of getting used to them...
