Car died...again... any hook ups in scarborough?

As some of you may remember my old hatch died (timing belt issue).

I bought a new car and its been runnig fine but jsut died.

I just turned it off, tried to turn it back on 5 misn later and it won't start. It turns over fine but doesnt start.

Checked for spark, no spark (but I'm kind of a newb so I'm hoping I found a decent ground to check for the spark..)

See the thing is I have 2 dizzys from my 93, I *tried* to stick one in there, but the bolts didn't line up... (no idea why, its a bit different) but i still tried to test for spark cause it was still in the right position, and I still got no spark.

I *think* I can hear the fuel pump priming, i'm 90% sure.

So I'm really lost as to what to do now, I could try putting another distributor in but I'm not sure.

NO idea what else it could be either. I'm honestly not good enough with this **** to try, thats why I just want to have someone good look at it.

Thanks for the help.

I'm basically asking if anyone knows a good shop to take it to perferably that can tow me there, or will come an look at it for me and I'll compensate you for the time.

Car is at mccowan & finch.

93 is OBD1, 91 is OBD0.

Most likely as Boosted mentioned, it's probably the igniter coil. I've had 3 cars die on me and I thought timing belt broke, but then on further inspection, the belt was intact and the igniter coil was dead.

What about a 92??

The dizzy looked almost the same as the ones for a 92, harnesses plugged in etc, but the 3 bolts don't line up..

Thanks, I guess I will try to find a distributor to fit my 92, and swap it.

It's easy to swap right, just stick it in and then if it start I'll bring it to my mechanic to adjust timing? I just don't want to do anything that will scrwe up my engine.

Is there anywhere where I can get a dizzy? How much is a new one? If anyone would be willing to try their dizzy on mine to see if it fires up I"ll pay you for your time.

Thanks again.

Before you remove your old distributor, you should part the point where the Dizzy matches the engine with like whiteout or a marker.

Install the new one and line it up to the same point.. You should be fine then.. You won't destroy the engine by just shoving the dizzy in and driving it as long as you keep the revs low. Advancing the timing too much and reving the **** out of it will lead to knocking, which can destroy it.

88-91 civics are obd0, 92-95 civics are obd1. 96+ is obd2 It will look almost the same, but it's not.

Right, that's why I mentioned advancing your timing too much might.
