caliper replacement - best option

hey, I have a seized front right (passenger) caliper. I have never done this before, but I searched and found the http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...er+replacement and looked at the manual, it seems pretty easy, but I am wondering which option everybody thinks I should chose:

1.buy a rebuilt one from local autoparts store (probably canadian tire), haven't checked price yet...

2. buy a rebuilt kit (not sure from where)

3. a neighbour has one off a wrecked CRX that he had a couple years ago, has been sitting around his garage for a few years, he offered to sell it to me (not sure ifits still good or bad)

I have heard the rebuilt kits are more trouble then they are worth compared to the already rebuilt ones....what does everybody else thing???

thanks......

personally, if your going to rebuild the one, might as well rebuild the other, cause it may not be that far behind the troubled one.

I've never re-built one, so I cant speak for the re-built experience part of it, but the easiest way to go about this is just go to a junkyard and buy replacements, off a wrecker.

also depends on how long your going to keep the car..

I just called canadian tire and NAPA, they both are 50 after the core return, anybody know of any cheaper/decent places in the OSHAWA area (something in missisuaga won't help me having to spend $10 on gas to save a little).....I could probably go as far as scarborough....or should I just get the NAPA/Crappy tires??....

try that 'front wheel drive' link above that leitner posted. $25-$30

since canadian tire, napa and collins will all have relatively the same price.

OMG, he already listed the number... why not just pick up a phone and ask them where they are located, or search 411.ca

you are on the net already... least you can do is do a 411.ca lookup instead of asking others to do it for you. b16civic was kind enough to reveal a wicked source for calipers at 1/2 price of Canadian Tire, what more could you want?

UPDATE

this is a litte late, but last weekend I got the new caliper on. I just ended up uploading the pic off the camera now. I ended up going with the canadian tire one, it was $48 something and the one from Front wheel drive was actually $42. So I went to ct since its just down the street. The caliper went on with no problem, and after the pads went on no problem also. Bleeded the breaks, and its all good now ..
