Question a/c after engine swap

If I swap a B18B into a 96 Civic CX, will the factory a/c fit on the new engine? I assume it will need a new compresor mount, but does anyone know if this will work?

Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem keeping the a/c. When I did the B16 swap I retained my stock a/c system. I think the stock bracket was chaged to make it fit. The a/c kills the engine's performance though, wish I had it removed.

yup..

When I swapped my b18c5 I kept my A/C. Here's a hint. the AC Compressor bracket from the CRV will fit on the CIVIC..and has the bolt pattern for the B series engines..

I went with a 2nd gen B16A mount bracket, which is what most peopel go with when swapping a B-series into a 5th or 6th gen... it works fine.

But that CRV mount Kev suggested is a new one, never heard that one before. Interesting.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Haynes manual and the postiton of the a/c lines are slightly different in the Civic with a D series motor than in the Integra witha B series. With the B series motor everything is over to the passenger side a little more. Just wanted to know if the a/c parts are different or not. I commute in rush hour traffic daily and with no a/c I couldn't take it in the summer.

here's my engine bay with the stock A/C still there..

fits in..a little tight, but it fits in. Take the CRV bracket and you'll be fine..
