busted timing belt
what can happen to an engine when the timing belt breaks? I know that valves can be bent, but can anything happen to the block?
I am wondering b/c i am trying to find a b18a/b for a lsvtec. I found a 93 b18 for $350 but the timing belt is busted. Say the piston did hit the valves, would that cause any damage to the rods, crank, cylander walls, block?

Normally when that happens the valves get damaged and bent. There can also be some damage to the surface of the piston that has hit the valves. But block, rods and crank are pretty tough. They should survive easily.

where can i get a b18b for $500? At Mike's in Hamilton its $700. Dominion for a 91 b18a its $500. I've called almost ALL of the local junkyards around hamilton and not too many places even have this engine.
