brakes for 90 crx si

I am looking at getting the brakes/rotors changed b4 winter... there getting close to being finished... I was just wondering if ne one knew of some good aftermarket brakes and a decent price .. b/c if i just get honda's brakes there gonna be expensive so if it is just a few bux more i may as well get really good ones...

mike, find the civic ex, 88-91,
take the hubs off..

install accord wagon calipers (any year)
install 'Lude VTEC rotors (redrill 1x114 - 1x100)

bolts up like stock and brakes go from 9.4" - 11"

gotta buy new rims for that... its an Si so it already has rear disks anyways...

KVR makes good pads.... and you can get brembo blanks for relatively cheap i think... or even some slotted rotors

for just a extremely mild street day to day setup my choice woudl be brembo blanks with aem pads (nissin pads) they are jsut slightly more aggressive....this is a cheap setup that works good (not really for track use)

Put your TCC memebrship to work. Call up Brett at parkway Honda, he can cut you a good deal on rotors and pads. whetehr you're after stock or performance. ALtech has good pricing on KVR stuff if you're interested.

i have the same problem as mike does in that we dont have our cards yet

althought tmak said they were in the mail.... still waiting though

when i went to honda like a year ago to check prices oem pads were roughly 100 for front or rear... and i remember the rear rotors being $289.... fronts were actually cheaper....

Just go to crappy tire and get basic rotors and pads. They do the job for the street. Treat them properly and they'll last. Get better tires if you want to stop faster.
