belt broke, weird noises
ok so my string of luck continues, im driving all a sudden i notice im 2 handing trying to steer around corners, so i pull over pop hood, the belt if off the track, ok thats fine i pull it out, its in one piece, so im like k no worries just get new belt monday w/e, now there are some weird squeeking noises coming form there, i notice extra vibration on the shifter... also my bat light came on so i took another look under the hood, does the ps belt help drive the alternator at all? its on the same pully. if anyone has any answers that would be great thanks.

the power steering belt doesn't drive the alternator belt, if the belt is on and working maybe you need a new alternator. if you have a/c there are 3 belts, and if you don't you have 2 belts. so maybe your alternator is toast. good luck

I got a feeling your alternator belt is loose now..
That's why it's squeeking (slipping) and that's why your battery light might be coming on..
check the tension in the alternator belt.. make sure it's on tight.

i just took a look at the car, the alt belt is tight, so what would explain the battery light coming on? but then going off once i accelerated, this is also after the power steering belt was totally removed, i only drove maybe 5 mins after the belt came off just to get home then i parked it.

You sure the alternator belt is on tight.. Tight to you may not be right still. There should be almost no play when pushing on the belt.
When the battery light comes on, it's telling you that the car is now resorting to power from the battery, NOT the alternator.
The squeeking is the alternator belt slipping on the pulley. When it slips it stops spinning the alternator, hence the battery light would come on.
Speeding up basically makes the crank pulley spin faster, making the belt spin faster and then probably grabbing hold of the alternator pulley once it's built rotating momentum in the alternator.. Battery light goes off then!
Make sure the belt is on tight! If you hear squeeking, then for sure a belt is slipping, especially if it's affected by revs. Even if it seems tight, adjust it loose and back tight again. If you can take it off and inspect the belt, it should have grooves that sit against the pulley.. Could be totally worn out.
