if you want to turbo a b20, you'd have to sleeve it first.

i know someone who has a b20vtec in a del sol...and it rips.

but that still won't stop me from getting something else
for now I'm just going to stick with what I've got and see what the D can do....
I bet my D is better then ryuujin's B

It sounds like a good platform to build with...spend some time and money with, like I plann on doing with any motor I get, before swaping it...but for a direct replacement as is, yah so far it doesnt sound to great...

go with a b20B with a LS tranny and have a nice day ..... torque is the important numbers and the B20B has it ... if you do your own build up on it get a b17 crankshaft if you can then you'll get some sweet power.....

why not a LS tranny ??? doesn't the LS have taller gears ?? which is what you want since the b20 doesn't rev as high

yes but the short gears would limit your top speed and would have a higher highway cruising speed.... but for solo 2

moron?

Guys, am I a moron? I could have gotten a b20b from a friend who wrecked his 00 CRV for $800. If I used my B18B intake and LS tranny, would I be set and be making some faster runs? What would I do 1/4 mile, for instance, maybe 0.5 sec better with a stock setup? I was only afriad it would disapoint me since its got low hp.

I can't see your comment - why it would suck in a coupe but rock in a hatch. Especially since coupes are heavier. I understood that torgue "takes care" of the heavy weight and is all the pull, while Hp gives it the high revving tendancy (all the push) to make speed.

I mean, I love my B18B and its pulling soooo well. Its fun to smoke other (lightly modded) civics (on the track) while I effortlessly shift at low rpms in 4th and 5th gears, meanwhile they are revving, banging 2nd and 3rd, and wondering if something is wrong with their car cause my rustbucket is steadily pulling away from them. ha ha ha.

My favourite spankings occur when all show no go (and only non-vtec) integras try to pass me and I discreetly floor it and pass them! The shocked look on their face when they see my rustbucket with 1.5 inch muffler pass them is hilarious.

I will never drive anything but sleepers.
