B18C3 vs. B18C or B18c5

So i was Looking thru some chassy codes etc in the archives and noticed that the B18c3 had the following specs

In the following car(s): Honda Integra Type R (JDM)

then i noticed that the jdm itr and the usdm itr had the following specs

Power (bhp@rpm): 195@7800
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 130@7600
Compression Ratio: 10.6:1
Bore (mm): 81
Stroke (mm): 87.2
Cam Design: dohc
VTEC?: yes
OBD: 2
Year(s) Produced: 1997-2001
In the following car(s): Honda Integra Type R

B18C5
..
Displacement (cc): 1797
Power (bhp@rpm): 195@8000
Torque (ft/lbs@rpm): 130@7500
Compression Ratio: 10.2:1

i just did some research regarding this topic myself and there's no realiable source of info....some site says that it have more power than the 97-01 spec R but on hondaswap i saw this --> http://www.hondaswap.com/forums/inde...howtopic=29825

it says that b18c3 is equivalent that of a GSR....so i'm confused on this myself...i also realized that there's also b18c6 and 18c7....goddamn engine codes

just worry about the c and c5, i have done these engins for 12 or so years and have never even seen anything other than the c and c5. generaly the differences are in compression (piston domes and chamber volume) and cams.

As far as I know, the C3 was the Japanese motor from 96-97 in the ITR. It was refined into what is now known as the B18C5 or
B18C, whatever your flavour.

Honda has developed a pretty straightforward means of coding its various engines. Each motor code starts with a letter, to denote the engine family. The two numbers that follow represent the engine's metric displacement. The last two digits, typically a letter and a number, represent a version or revision to the engine.
