B18B all motor HP gains....
Well, i decided to build my engine up before i think about turboing it and get as much as I can outa it...
so far it has intake and exhaust so the next thing i am getting this week is a new header, but other than that what should I get to get some nice HP gains........i know camshafts do quite a bit but is there anything else I should be going after?
Also, with an all motor LS engine (don't say LS vtec either....lol) as a daily driver what kinda HP numbers should I be able to get outa it without spending 5 g's?

im interested in an all motor non-vtec setup my self, ive done a little bit of research.
im not about to regurgitate everything i've ever heard on the net like most people, but www.nonvtec.com have some great tips for a non vtec(obviously) build.
but IMO swap the b18b out for a b20 if you want some decent allmotor no Vtaackyoh!!1! numbers.

Crower 402 cam is a direct replacement, 403/404/405 are from mild to race, so you would need valve springs, high compression pistons, head work and whatnot. Just like how you build any motor, without the VTEC.

imo.. get an obd1 ecu (if u dont already have one) and get it chipped. That will give you a bit more pep and you can use it towards your boost project as well... besides that.. i would probably get some headwork done, but all that is costly and causes downtime.

it'll cost upwards of 1000+ to do headwork like camshafts and stuff... why don't u just search for a used turbo kit off another ls and then put it on... i bet you could get one for liek $1500-2000 and just put it on then you will get some decent gains...

so i think i am going to get a zex WOT nitrous kit and see how long that goes for and if worse comes to worse I'll just toss in my new (perfectly working) engine.
