b16a help!!!!!!

b16a help!!!!!!

ok...........i just rebuilt a b16a, has about 800 km on it and when i start it when its cold it rev at 2000 rpm and when heats up it runs fine until u drive it four an hour it'll rev at 650 but it'll jump back and forth(sometimes for 650-300 rpm and 650- 1200)........................and if u don't let the car heat up it'll rev high all the time(1100 rpm)............what wronge with my car?............

it could be many things, but generally what your'e describing there is usually caused by a bad fast idle thermo thermo. happened to a friend of mine (he's an idiot by the way ) it's on the intake manifold right below the throttle body on a b16a. take it off, if the inner section is loose just screw it back in, whisper some sweet nothings to it , and re-install. you should be good to go. it it's broken/damaged you'll need a new one (not uncommon for swapped motors).

check the valve lash, when it heats up there could be an open or tight valve
