Air Ride Question

Air Ride Question
I need pros and cons on the air ride, i want to kno if there is a performance air ride suspension out there. If i don't get air ride i want to go honda factory performance kit and its not out until april but i hear honda is pricey and I don't wanna go with spring cause i am afraid of damage that the springs may cause the stock suspension later down the road. What wud u suggest the best place to install suspension?

affiliates would be the best for the install. I would assume defcon racing does installs of susp.?
imo I wouldn't get air-ride on an 06.. i feel it would just make the car look kinda stupid. ( i cant really think of another word for it)
with your car I would just lower it 2" or so. Aftermarket springs and shocks or coilovers and a camber kit if needed wouldn't really affect your suspension over time.. i know plenty of guys that have been using coilovers for years and their susp. is fine. I would assume it would cause more stress on some parts but I couldn't see it really damaging anything critical.

air ride in your new si :S
i wouldnt do that IMO
wait till april and go with a lowering spring, if u are worried your stock struts cant take it then get new aftermarket struts as well. Koni, KYB, Tokico all make great aftermarket performance struts. Dunno if they make em yet for the new civics tho

To my knowledge, air-ride systems can be very unreliable, heavy and expensive. I would never do it to a nice new Si.
With my 06, I'm just going with a gentle drop (Tein S-Tech) and stock struts. Next year when more parts are available, I'd like to upgrade to a full coilover system from Tein, H&R or Progress. The Tein SS kit is coming out soon, but I don't want to be the first.
If I had an Si, I'd do the same. Some of our Affiliates are already able to get parts for the 06 too.

Air ride can be very safe and reliable if done properly its all depends on how its setup and the quality of the products used..
I would rather use an Airlift 9-way adjustable strut than a cheap coil-over sleeve on my factory shock.
Anyways Allota cars I have setup daily drive and are reliable. All depends what you want.
check out www.ridetech.com and check out the street challenges. or www.easystreetair.com
I have had many honda's on air and have daily driven them in the winter and summer. Again quality products, good install, you wont have problems.
Hope I answered some of your questions..

air ride is only as good as the parts and install....as with anything, be it suspension, engine, boost, or body work.....

I think air ride is awesome, if i had the money no question i would put it on my car. With your new Si i definetely think you should get it, why wait? might as well be one of the first ones to actually do that, but as people have said before if you're gonna do a complicated job like that make sure you do it right and don't cheap out.
