Hey wassup guys...i was just driving outside in the damn snow...and i stopped the car on the road for a second to go inside and when i got back in i noticed the ABS light was on...has this happened to anyone and what could be the cause....i have a 98 civic lx.....

slush buildup in the ABS sensor... powerwash behind the wheels where the axle enters the steering knuckle. that's where the ABS sensor/ring are. it's a common problem in the winter.

you can also try sensor safe brake cleaner and spray that in there, but you'd have to take the wheel off to get a better shot at it.

take it to a dealer to get scan and see what code u have and start from there

Mine comes on as well but after a while it goes away, snow probably fell out of the spot. No big deal.

ya it worked just by getting it cleaned .....with some water...

even the lite is off it stored the code at the memory.remember once the lite is on ur abs system will not function but ur normal brake will do. if u do have an extended warranty maybe its covered.7 years 160,000 klm comprehensive coverage.
