ok well u gotta check the engine codes that it's throwing..

as for E-BRAKE, underneather your handbrake lever is a switch that controls that light.. I don't think those 2 are connected in anyway, they are most likely seperate problems..

For the engine problem, u gotta get the code before we can really help you more. for the e-brake, take off that ebrake console area and test out the switch..

ok, the thing is that the check engin light goes off again after like 20 sec. and the weird thing is that the ebarke light is exactly in sequence with the engine makin the bake firering noise, ill check the codes and get back to you

i had a problem like that with my SiR... it ended up being a problem with the vtec sensor. keep in mind, this is k20 motor... but i was experiencing the same sort of 'back fire' as you've described.

you'd have to check the code and see what comes up...

this explanation is for a 5th gen, but check to see if it's the same
where the ecu is...by firewall on passenger floor, you'll find some plugs that aren't connected to the ecu, there should be a plug with one brown, and one black wire in it.
connect the two wires together (with another piece of wire, or piece of metal), anything to complete the circuit.
then turn your car to "on" and watch the check engine light flicker...
if it flashes 3 times long, then 4 times quickly, then that is 34
if it flashes 2 times long and 7 times fast then that's 27
the pattern will keep repeating itself...
reference this number in a haynes, or helms manual to figure out what sensor is shooting the code...
it will only read off the first code, so you're gonna have to fix the problems in order.
but, I'm sure someone else will explain this better
