when i come to a stop, or after backing up.
i always stop before doing it. (complete stop)

what ill do is take off in second (like 1") just to get it moving and it will be fine....

well what I always do is shift into 2nd then into first all the time before putting it into 1st...just helps better align things...but it sounds to me like ur shifter forks are perhaps bent or its the synchromesh...try some new tranny fluid see if that smooths things out

Try GM SynchroMesh tranny fluid, ORRRRRR Amsoil tranny fluid. Either should quiet things down for a while, but keep in mind that you still have a rather large problem developing in your tranny.

Yes that will help getting it in 1st. Also, you can still downshift into 1st while moving by doubleclutching and revmatching the shift. No grinds and smooth engagement.
