500 RWhp civic

hello guys..

i need to know as much as you guys can tell me about modding civics.

whats the best money can buy. please remember i'm a student so infomr me of mods that i could invest in not dream modds please.

first of all this is my car

96 civic sohc vtech Si coupe

its all bone stock except of intake and muffler.

need to know how i can get this 127 manufacturer advertised hp's close to 200 hp naturally aspirated.

what do i need to change?

what are some of the things that might go wrong

what will i need to consider and all those what if questions.

waht i'm wondering aobut right now is will the following make a change to my cars performance in terms of torque and speed.

i am thinking of changing:

1. the cam shaft
2. underdrive pulleys

how much in terms of power would my car increase to???

now as far as the fuel system i really need to get it changed.

i want better fuel injectors that will spray more fuel at the same time fits my engine ofcourse.

i will also need to change my fuel pump then right???

anywyas so far these are my questions ll the input will be considered for my project for the summer of '03

thanks everyone

There is no way that some one would be able to answer that.

What you can do is search the forums for your answers. that's a good place to start.

Another, would be to come out to our meets. That way, you would be able to talk with people in person that have the same intrest as you when it comes to modding.

This subject is so wide and varied, that it would be hard to give you a straight answer. Every person has an opinion about what they would do to a car.....some very affordabe, others expensive and time comsuming.....some a little of both. There are also alot of things that can go bad if you don't know what you are doing.

The best thing you can do to start, is go get some performance books that deal with Civics.

ie.....

There is also another one in the same series, but I can't seem to find the pic. (it has a white 5th gen civic hb (92-95) on the cover)

These books are available at Performance Improvments.....cost...around $25 each.

Also look into buying mags that deal with imports...ie Sport Compact Car, Super Street, ect.....

Over time, learning is a powerful backbone when it comes to this hobby. You have to start somewhare.........and at least you came to the right place.

Come on out to a meet.......we can help you get started in the right direction.

It would take a book to explain all that... oh wait.... there is a book that explains it. Go to Amazon or Chapters Online and you shall see about Honda tuning.

Simple answer... 200 hp, get a B18C1, cams, P&P, header, intake, exhaust, computer, Ti retainters, underdrive pulleys, and that's it.

you subjet says 500whp?>

Your looking over
$25 000 not including swap.
Thats pritty much useless on the street

200 hp, get a B18C1, cams, P&P, header, intake, exhaust, computer, Ti retainters, underdrive pulleys, and that's it.
Even all that wont give you 200hp at the wheels.

A b18c1 at the wheels is 150hp. Thats 50 more horse power needed.

Port and polish is not 30 to the wheels remember.

YOu need a FI or notrous set up , with basic bolt ons. If you want 500hp, you take it too a good shop where experiance is needed to build such a set up.\

Good luck, if you do it, thats sick.

Not really... the above are some of the mods that will get him a good start... I've seen 300 hp naturally aspirated DOHC VTECs... just depends on your cash flow. Power adders are cheaper, but 200 at the wheels is doable N/A. It's all in the tuning.

learn how to swap an H22A in your car, save up all your money.. and do it yourself.

That'll bring you to 200hp or damn close enough..
it also leaves you open to mods on that to increase your power even more..

modding the hell outta your sohc is fine and all, but realize that once you've modded pretty much everything, it'll end up costing just about the same as a swap done yourself..

err.. I think ? heheh

No, but you can get them if you search Chapters.ca for "Honda" There are manuals and performance books.

what mods do you have on it... stock injectors are 240cc nippon denso saturated type. I'm not sure if they are disk or pintle, I'll tell you when I take mine out. If you don't have boost, stock injectors and pump will be fine. Same with the rail. Work on air delivery and exhaust before you touch fuel. So intake, header, exhaust, cams, springs, etc, etc.
