Clutch pedal question (CRX vs civic)

OKay i ahve had my 90 DX hatch for some time now, and just recently bought a 88 CRX Si. Love both cars to death but ive noticed sumthing abou8t my CRX that seems odd. HEres the scenario. My clutch in the hatch is brand new and works very well. I dont knwo how new the CRX xlutch si but it seems to wrok good. The only odd thing is this, the hatch has the pedal a certain distance off the floor ( didnt measure exactly) and it engages the clucth a certain distance. NOw the odd thing is , that the crx seems to be half the distance, ( approx) It just seems weird.

IS this normal or is there somthing possibly wrong with my crx's clucth or pedal ??

PLEASE HELP!!

both should be cable, and one of them will need to be adjusted... consult your Chilton manual for the proper cable/clutch play.

Yes they are both cable.
Won't work though man. The '88 Si is the oddball. The clutch spline is less than the '89+. I can't rememeber if its the tranny or the flywheel that has to be changed specifically.

As for your CRX's current clutch it could just be the way the clutch is designed.

YA its weird, dont get me wrong both clucths work excellent, i just found it weird.

I was under the impression that both being a civic platform, they should be the identical same.??

They are the same (Civic and CRX) for some reason the '88 is the oddball.
Other than that a DX clutch should work with an Si.

eth0r, yours is hydraulic... you can't adjust it. If there is too much play, time to bleed the system.

Same way as you bleed brakes.

1. Make sure the res is full
2. Pump the pedal a few times and then hold it down
3. Have someone crakc the bleeder on the slave
4. TIghten and repeat.

THats how i do it, and never have a problem.
