Well, it doesn't hurt to ask.
There is not much we could do than ranting on the internet.
All I say is good luck.

BTW, nice car you got, have seen it few times around Gerrard.

I know what its like to fail man.
Been there done that.
Found out it was due to my head gasket bein non-existant.

On the bright side, u didnt fail (pollute our air) as bad as me!

well.... I'm glad it passed but they made me wasted so much time and money
if they didn't fail me the first time I didn't have to waste my time going to the mechanic to chekc everything and had to pay for it...
and then wasted my money again for the second test and again failed me and I had to go back to the mech. again to get it checked....
all this time there was nothing wrong with it :fustrated

The catalytic converter works best when its hot... so usually it takes a 5 minutes after the engine is running at normal temperature. One reason why you want to run on the highway for like 30minutes and than go straight directly to the testing facility without waiting is because the catalytic converted is guranteed to be fully functional.

WARNING........ some garages are NOT cleaning the tailpipe probe after every car. If the car before you failed miserably, and they didn't clean the probe....(they use a special tank [looks like a propane tank from a BBQ] ......with a chemical to purge the probe before a new car is tested).....it will probably FAIL.

Go back and watch when they do a test.......before and after (depending if they remembered if they did it).....thay HAVE to clean the probe. It's an easy way for the garage to get extra work.

Garage "Uh.....sir.....your car failed......if you like, you can get an "ENGINE DIAGNOSTIC" test done, to get more detailed information on what might be wrong?"

Poor sap: "ok....do the test, I really need this car to pass"

Garage: "the test cost $**.95"

Poor sap: "ok"

Mean while another mechanic cleans the probe..........and presto......the car magicaly passes the emision test.........all thanks to the competent work of a mechanic.

ALWAYS ask to see the car being tested, that way you will know for sure if the do clean the probe.

Where do you recommend emission testing.

Is it every 2 years even for new cars? Anyways I remember at Canadian Tire you aren't allowed to see.

it's every time you go to get your new sticker for your plates and the sticker people say we need to see a e test first ...then you know you have to get it done (at least thats my way of thinking)

I think CityTv would like to know this..........I'd also call "Drive Clean" and report this.

They are suppose to clean the prob BEFORE EVERY TEST.

They will prob tell you that they always clean it.........thats why I'd go back with a digi cam/video and get some proof, Then confront them about a refund.
