how did you crack it and where was the crack? Whenever you use screws you gotta make sure to pre-drill and also not use screws with a huge thread.

i did pre-drill...everything was ok until the last piece when every screw i put in cracked...i judging by the way i was purposly trying to break the box after that i think the glue itself is strong enough

hehe dont worry ive cracked enough seams, more so near the edge of the mdf

its fine though it doens't do anything, once its dried its there for good, just put a bead of silicone inside the box and your good to go

you dont need the screws to secure it, all they do is hold the wood tight when the glue is drying you can even take them out when your done

Well, I'm trying one more time since the wood is pretty cheap. I'm gonna use something to pin the wood down while gluing instead of screws.

I had a custom designed transmission line years ago in chevette with 1 10"......had everyone fooled, most thought I had 12's or 15's....great design.....amasing lows.....down side was that it took up the hole rear hatch area, not very practical.....and yes Chris I'll agree pretty much every home made box has a crack or two. thank god for glue

thats ok i dont stay on top of the latest models and newest designs anymore. im trying to focus more on the engineering behind the setups and the gear...

i rather know why something works rather than what brand name is the "in"

So far so good...everything nice and sealed with the glue alone. Just gotta go to my brother in law's house to use the jigsaw to cut the hole then glue that last piece and caulk it.
