wiring harness
Building my 00 siR into a road race car and want to remove all non engine related wiring. Does anyone know of an after market harness that would connect the ecu to the engine and elimenate all interior connections?

Just unroll the harness and cut what you don't want out. Though if you are trying to save weight, ill tell you now, don't and its not the smartest idea. Leave the harness as is, just go to the washroom and unload to compensate for the same weight difference. Lol

How much weight are you really going to save?
If you take out the ebrake and shifter console plastic pieces, it will probably amount to the same weight.
I personally would not touch any wiring in the car unless I've taken out every other piece possible, and until the car itself was strictly a race car that is towed to the track.

What a waste..
Not to mention if you ever want to sell the vehicle, no body will buy it. Leave the harness alone, take your spare tire out, gut the rear, take out some dash stuff, air bags (if you are that hardcore), stereo, speakers, etc.

Where did that come from? If you have nothing positive to contribute, don't post at all.
To the OP, best to leave all the wiring intact. Will save you from cutting something you may need it the future or cutting something important by accident. And like martin said, you're not saving enough weight to make it worth it.

On a honest note, ive completely stripped a vehicle of all the plastics, air bags, carpet, wiring, damn near EVERYTHING, and it only saved 14 lbs. Most of that was the water soaked carpet. Dont waste your time with "gutting". The rear seat is almost weightless even. Want to save weight? go on a diet.

Well thankyou all for your opinions. The car will be ran in the C.A.S.C. GT Challange Series at tracks such as Mosport, and Shannonville and will not be on the street again. You're right weight savings will be negligeable I just want it all neat and tidy. After installing an 1 3/4 .120 wall tube 6 point roll cage the car will close to stock weight even after gutting the entire interior. As for it's resale value, I really don't care, it's just a Honda Civc not a Ferrari. Finally to those of you who suggest I go on a diet, I only weigh in at 148 lb now, any less and I'll be fading away

^^^^^rofl.
I don't think there is any aftermarket vehicle specific wiring harness for use with an OEM ecu that eliminates anything extra for our cars, but i haven't ever really looked too hard for such an item.
There is really only a few things that you would be removing any wiring for, alot of the wires are shared for a bunch of different sensors which you'll be keeping to make the engine run properly.
Standalone ecus (ones that are generic for any car) can come with a wiring harness that you can wire only what you need into, but converting to a standalone ecu/harness isn't exactly economical or even really necessary, not to mention would offer little to no advantage over an OEM ecu chipped and tuned for your setup, all that would require is an obd2b-obd1 ecu conversion harness and a chipped obd vtec ecu.

i think your biggest save in weight would be removing the HVAC. AC alone is ~30 lbs if you remove EVERYTHING (everything inside the vehicles cabin bay and in the engine bay). Everything else is nearly weightless.
Step 1. Grab hammer
Step 2. Use hammer*
*If hammer doesnt work, get bigger hammer.
