Whirring Sound in Belt Area

Whirring Sound in Belt Area
I'm getting a whirring sound coming from the belt area of the engine. I'm not sure which of the serpentine belts it is, but the pitch goes up with the engine rev (audible around 2500rpm). Anyone knows what it might be? Is it related to a part like the alternator?
I'm due for a timing belt change, so I'm hoping to get this fixed along with the timing belt/water pump.
Thanks.

well.. it sounds like your going to have to give it to a mechanic. On hondas usually the idler pulleys go more often than the belts. So your going to have to listen with a stethoscope to the p/s, a/c and alt pulley. One of those should be making the noise.
But what I would recommend first is to eliminate the belts as the cause. So put some wd40 on a belt at a time or some silicone and start the car up. If the noise is still there you know its not the belt you lubricated. Also have a look to see if they are cracked or ripped.

So do your hoses, should you replace all of them too? If its not making noise, no point.
Either tell your mechanic to look at it. Or do what I recommended. Or you can cough up $15-20 each belt and replace them all. Go nuts..
