vtec not kicking?

vtec not kicking?

hey so pretty much sometime it doesnt sound or feel like my vtec doesnt kick in..

any one know dome possible reason this will be it only happens sometimes. sayyy 1/3 times

probably your vtec spool valve (ie vtec solenoid) unplug it and put constant 12V to it and if it clicks it's ok....very hard to diagnose because it sounds like it's intermittent....keep an eye on it

Check you engine oil, because if it's low, it will not kick it in.

^Yea if the engine is not up to temp vtec will not engage.....When you say vtec isn't working does the check engine light come on?

yea the engine has to be at operating temperature before vtec engages as someone said above...

If its not kicking in at all check ur vtec ground make sure it didnt come lose... i had that problem

If it's obd0 the engine doesn't need to be warm check your oil make shure you have good connections to the vtec pressure switch oil pressure sensor knock sensor and clean up the ground

it most deffinatly could be low on vtec oil. also check your headlight fluid, you may need some Xenon fluid to help the "vtach" performance.

oh yes, how could we forget about those? also you should check under the hood if your valve cover says vtec. otherwise you need motor swap. srr
