Skunk2 cams in stock motor?

Hey guys can you just install skunk2 stage 2 cams on a motor with stock internals or do you need aftermarket valve, retainers, etc? I got a b16a with adjustable cam gears already and other bolt ons and I can get a set of cams cheap, anyone used them and know? Can I just buy them and install em? any valve adjustments need to be done?

With stage 2 cams will be pointless on a stock b16

Get stage 1's and a tune

Are they street stage 2 or pro stage 2? Big difference.

Pro stage 2 you need higher compression, bigger intake and TB, high-end header and full 2.5" exhaust, high flow fuel pump, larger injectors as well as chipped OBD1 ecu and someone to tune it.

Even with the street cams, you need them tuned properly.

I have a intake, type r headers, cam gears, chipped ecu, fuel pressure reg., aem fuel rail, 2.5 exhaust on the car now, and also a 3" cat back and turbo kit no installed yet. If I buy the cams they come with a skunk2 intake mani aswell, I also have a B18c1 on the garage floor. I'm going to build something big just trying to figure out what. And I know they make turbo cams but I want a lot of low rpm torque don't want to build a all top end motor.

You never answered if they are street stage 2 or pro stage 2... It makes a big difference.

I explained what you'd need if you went with pro stage 2 cams. Forgot to mention, you'd also need better valve springs and retainers.

Turbocharging and using performance NA cams do not mix well. That is the whole point of turbo cams. NA cams will not give you low end, so don't expect that either.

Before you go any further, what is your power goal and what is your budget?

By the sounds of it, you are just dumping money into the car pointlessly. FPR/rail/adjustable cam gears are all pointless. stock fpr/rail are sufficient enough for your desire/needs. Moreover, getting adjustable cam gears on stock cams...well that is really just throwing money out.

Figure out your budget, figure out your power goal, then see what makes sense whether N/A or turbo and go from there.
