MiniMe

So im doing this setup on my d16y7 block , I have a d16z6 head and intake manifold ... apexi vafc II vtec controller.

Now my questions are,

-Is my y7 dizzy going to line up ?

-Will wiring my z6 head to obd2 be much trouble (the obd1 z6 head and intake manifold have been rewired already for obd0!)

-And should I use y8 head gasket on my z6 head , ive read that they seal much better.

Thanks,
Dman

Any advise is appreciated!!

the y7 dizzy won't line up, but you can make it work.

Using an obd1 head on an obd2 car is very simple, re-use your injectors and thats all you'll have to worry about, everything else will plug right in fine (except dizzy if you're gunna use the z6 dizzy).

You can use the y8 headgasket without any problems.

And don't waste your time with the vafc.

are you doing the labour yourself?
If so, there's no better time to change the water pump while everything is apart.

If you want to use the z6 dizzy, you'll have to do something about the plugs being different. Obd2 dizzy's use 1 big plug, whereas obd1 dizzy's use 2 plugs.
You can make something like this:

Which is an obd2a-obd1 dizzy conversion jumper harness i made for someone, using an obd2a dizzy plug and obd1 dizzy plugs off an obd1 engine harness, that way you can use an obd1 dizzy on an obd2a car (96-98 civic).
Or you can just solder on obd1 plugs onto your engine harness, or the obd2 dizzy plug onto the obd1 dizzy, either way works, i've done them both. But personally, i like the jumper harness, that way if you ever go back to stock, all you do is unplug the jumper harness.
