mini-me swap automatic?

mini-me swap automatic?

hi, i was just wondering if i can do a mini me swap with a d16y8. i have a d16y7 automatic in the car right now... can this happen? if so what would i need to do? thanks!

It can be done, but not really worth doing it to an auto.

Sure it can be done...

You would need a complete D16y8 head with y8 Intake manifold and TB with ALL related sensors, a new head gasket and might as well do your timing belt and water pump at the same time.

You'll also need a VTEC ECU like a P28 with obd1 conversion harness OR the corresponding D16y8 obd2 ECU. You will need to extend a couple of wires from the ECU over to the Vtec solenoid if you're using the D16y7's engine harness also and IIRC you need to convert to the 2-wire IAC since thats what y8's use instead of the y7's 3-wire.
