Jdm d15 cost/questions!
I want to know the cheapest place to buy a jdm d15 engine since crappy 95 eg engine burns mad oil.
I hear its around 500 bucks but where? I dont really want to import one from toronto jdm cause they look to be a grand before shipping but thats with the tranny.
Also will my stock 95 tranny work with that engine or do I need to buy a complete swap?
Thanks guys/gals

you can buy just the engine b/c everything from the old engine will work on the new engine (except maybe the distributor, depending on what model car you have).
The tranny that will come with the jdm d15b engine will be better than the CX/DX/VX tranny but if you have an SI model civic than the tranny will be about the same.
There are SOOOOO many importers in toronto, just do a yellowpages.ca search for engine importers and start calling around.

I'm guessing you have CX? If you have the original CX transmission, spend 200$ on a new Si tranny. Will not regret it. I had CX tranny with Si motor and I hated every second of it. The s20 [as I recall?] transmissions are for vtec motors therefore they have nicer gear ratios.
But zeeman covered pritty much everything. GL
