Question Info About Civic Si's

Did honda produce 99-00 civic si's with d series engines? Ive read around that they produced 96-98 si's in canada with d series motors which are considered to be the american equivalent of the ex model as they did not have si's in 96-98. But how about the 99-00 civic si's in canada? Were they strictly b16 oriented? Or are there d16 variants out there as well? Sorri if this is confusing . Im looking around for a car to buy and dont want to get ripped off, so this information would really help .

The 96-00 Civic EX is a SI in Canada with a d16-vtec

Smile Scooping up an si :P

Just put a deposit down on a 2000 civic si with a d16y8. Paying 2900, seems reasonable. All stock aside from some angel eyes (that i want to take off) and some euro lights (which i DEFINATLY want to take off). No rust, in good condition, not immaculate but id give it an 8.5/10. Only problem is the bumper doesn't line up nicely, it worries me but the seller assures me that it shouldn't be a problem. He's a mechanic selling the car for a friend, he doesn't do body work so there isnt much he can do about the bumper, so im just going to have to either try myself or find someone who can. But other than those things the car's looking nice. Engine feels strong looks clean although it does have 225k on it, but it doesnt feel bad whatsover. Full magnaflow exaust from ractive headers (which i dont know a lot about but dont expect to be the greatest out there). But anyways, will try to post pictures when i can, let you guys see so u can give me feedback.

p.s if anyone has some oem si tailights up for grabs lemme know what youve got, those euros HAVE to go also info on how to remove the glued on angel eyes would be apreciated as well.

I would spend a little bit more money and find one that didnt have any of the issues or mods you mention. 225k is alot for a 2000 too.

Something like this
2000 Honda Civic Si-5MT-Emission Certified - Toronto Honda Cars For Sale - Kijiji Toronto

Yea i feel ya, but im on a pretty tight budget of 3g's and negotiating down to that price isnt gauranteed. Who knows what little suprises this car thats posted might have anyways. Besides, the car ive just put a deposit on is a done deal so im just going to have to start showing it the tlc it deserves until it's a monster From this point on, the shoulda woulda could of's are now replaced with what im going to do for the progression of this car. This car is pretty mint anyways, im sure the bumper is an easy fix, and theres zero rust. There are a lot of km's but it looks like its been taken well care of. If someone finds a car that can top it, for 3g's by tomorrow and cares enough to point me in the direction of it, im ALL for it. But for now just wish me luck guys! (and help me out whenever you can of course :P)
