I may get around to it though, its not like the car is just sitting there while im waiting for the parts to put the motor back together. Today i installed the clutch petal assembly as well as changed the gas/brake petals and i removed the battery tray. Tomorrow im going to relocate the battery to the trunk and put my 1000 CCA battery there. Then i get to try to figure out why the moonroof doesnt open properly. The guy said it worked perfect...might just need lube. Know of any common issues with them? Ill prob change the outer tails to stock and hope to get new inners soon. Prob gonna nightshade them as well. I kinda like my headlights but i wish they were black instead of chrome.

its good to hear your doing this yourself, because youll save a lot of money, plus idk about you but i dont trust my car with anybody else. relocated batteries are awesome, you should relocate the fuse box too, it looks kinda odd in the bay by itself. i know my moonroof didnt work great when i first got my car, but i lubed the track up nice and it works pretty well now, also check the fuse it could need replacing, other than that i havent head about any problems with the moonroofs. when you nightshade your tails dont go too dark, just a nice smoked look itll keep the cops away and still look nice. and i def. hear you about the chrome headlights, chrome kinda looks cheesy IMO. oh and for the ARP headstuds i think the best place to get them would be to order them, i dont know many shops around here that arent wayyy over priced.

I wouldnt be able to do this project paying someone else to do it, because im jobless, lol. Im thinking about relocating the fuse box as well, but we will see how much extending i would have to do, at least its small and at the back so maybe i can just hide it with a bit of fiberglass. I can hear the motors working for my moon roof. Earlier today it kinda opened half way, then stoped moving, so i had to move it manually(while pressing the button). I just went outside and tested all of my lights (high beams, reg beams, drls, signals, 4 ways, brake lights, cant text reverse, no shifter, lol) and i tried out the moonroof again. you can still hear the motor but nothing happens...maybe ill check that out tomorrow too. Whats a good place to order those studs? i fear ordering those off ebay i could get knock offs...

Wow this thread got flooded.
Damn the pic of your car makes me miss my ej1..had all black coupe, black rims, black tints. Looked sick. Oh well.
Btw I still have a sunroof assembly if you need it. Its just laying around ill give it to you dirt cheap.
Now for arp studs, contact performance improvements, they have few stores but one in gta is in etobicoke on queensway and islington. They can order arp headstuds for you. As I recall they should be around 179.99+tax. And its local so no shipping and you know you get the real deal. Also check out j.r.p. (no dots, I believe it gets stared out for some reason) or even option jdm. Give these shops a call and one of em will definitely help you out.

For the cost of reassembling and getting that motor back in you might as well buy an already assembled one..... Rebuilding a motor & budget NEVER go together well. Why rebuild it with stock sleeves, reused pistons, stock connecting rods... I mean the thing is apart in the first place which is usually a tell tale sign it probably wasn't exactly all golden before you got it or when it was assembled.

TRUST me on this from experience.

I bought the car/motor from a friend and he said the motor ran great before he took it apart. Only reason he took it apart was to build it. I may end up waiting a few weeks before making any decisions as i may have 5 grand fall in my pocket.

if you gonna build it, you SHOULD resleeve. if you do more research on the h22 motors, you will see that the block has FRM sleeves, i would NOT trust them. resleeve with darton sleeves and then get some nice pistons/rods.
for whats needed, i'd say all gaskets and bearings, you should be fine with all that.

I have always had great experience with Wiesco for Pistons. THEY even helped me over the phone with doing calculations for my 2.4 LD9 (GM.. Not Honda) hybrid/Frankenstein build....8.5:1 final with Valve reliefs.
