I read somewhere that you also need gsr springs, not sure though.

You'll need to tune the engine with a piggy-back or stand alone engine management system to get the most out of the cams. (like hondata, magesquirt, or crome...etc...)

Also this should be posted in the performance forum section.

^ I am pretty sure you dont need to upgrade the valvetrain.. not positive but its always I good idea to avoid possible headaches in the future.

The GSR cams aren't that much different from the B16A2 cams, so you wouldn't need to change the valve springs, unless you're going to rev it higher.

X2!
Your replacing stock cams with stock cams???
You won't need to upgrade your valvetrain at all.......If you plan on bumping up your rev limiter you will need aftermarket springs....you can keep your stock retainers......I've run them to 9000rpm with know problem at the track.
You will be fine without a tune. There really is'nt much difference between the two cams. If your upgrading to a stage2 camshaft or higher I would recomend a tune if you want to get the most out of your engine,

the only difference is the intake cam, the exhaust cams are the same. IMO GSR cams aren't worth the trouble of installing. The only stock cam that I would upgrade to is ITR or CTR.
Even with the GSR cams your power will peak before 7500rpms so there is NO POINT IN HELL revving to 9000rpms!!!
You can use the stock valve springs and retainers b/c the GSR valvetrain isn't any different, it uses the same dual spring on the intake side and single spring on the exhaust.

Piggyback = vafc, greddy emanage
Standalone = megasquirt, AEM, motec (overkill for 95% of hondas IMO)
ROM editor = crome, hondata, neptune (IMO what you want to get tuned with if you own a honda that makes less than 800whp)

Merely making a point......My stage 3 aftermarket cams in my old set-up made power till 9000rpm on stock retainers with know problems at the track where it was used.
