Distributor Questions

Hey, I have a question here. I am doing a mini-me swap soon and had a question about the distributor. This is what you will be looking at: D15B7 block with D16Z6 VTEC head. So here lies my question. Do have to go out and get a D16Z6 dizzy and the P28 ECU or can I use the D16Y8 dizzy with the P2P ECU and a conversion hareness? I know the P2P is OBD-2a, will it just be to much of a hassle because its OBD2 and I am OBD1 and the ECU will throw a CEL (MIL) light because I don't have those all the OBD2 sensors?

Any d-series vtec dizzy will bolt up and fit. The clips are different from obd1 to obd2a to obd2b. So, use whichever one will clip in.

Also, I HIGHLY suggest you tune your vehicle. I'm sure zeeman will explain why, but there is honestly no point in trying to make your vehicle go faster by doing a mini-me swap without any tuning.

converting up to obd2 would be silly if you're already obd1.

You can use the d16y8 dizzy, but keep the p28 ecu. You'll have to modify the plugs on the d16y8 dizzy to plug into your obd1 harness, or modify your engine harness to accept the obd2 dizzy.
