Question 99 civic hatch CAI

hey guys,
i need a little bit of help here.
i want to buy a CAI for my car, and i am looking to get the CAI that goes inside the bumper, not the one that sits in the engine bay.
but i am having a hard time figuring out which CAI from ebay goes into the bumper.
the engine is a d16 with the intake at the top (not side)
thanks for the help!
this is what im looking at:

A CAI (cold air intake) kit is the type that goes down into the bumper. The other type that has the filter in the engine bay is call a short ram intake.

I would just get a short ram. A CAI won't make that much of a diffirence on a DX, and you'll have to be carefull of large puddles.

ive herd stories that CAI are useless cuz th air warms up anyways wen it get to the mani, and u can like flood ur engine if u dont invest in a good valve.

Contrary to many beliefs, a CAI will make more HP then a Short Ram.
When we tested a stock D15 we made exactly 9hp compared to 3hp with the short ram model. Both where 3" models, we made pretty much the same numbers with 2.50" models.
And if your worried about Hydro locking, AEM sells a bypass valve to prevent this from happening.
Not that you should go driving around in 2ft puddles!

thats the problem im thinking about ... i do have the top mount one, and most of them on ebay seem to be for the side mount one ...

and ive seen many of then that the filter just mounts to the inside of the engine bay, where the big black box would be ... not going inside the bumper ...

that is because there is not much for the d16y7, you could alwasy change your intake manifold as well.

you could buy some piping and weld up your own, assuming you know how to weld and have a welder handy..
