300 for sir engine?
Who thinks a sir motor with bent valves is worth $300 bucks... i plan on building a turbo in the future... but thats 1 year future lol.... can si valves be swapped onto it?

With the amount of money you will spend on having that engine fixed and rebuilt will end up costing you the same or more then buying a B16A2 that's already in good shape and running.
The 2002 SiR motor is the k20 engine from the base RSX which made 160hp (same as the B16A2).
B series motors swap into your coupe much easier and cheaper then a k series which requires a special mount kit etc...
What exactly are the plans for your car? What kind of power do you want to make, and what kind of use will it see? Daily driving, track, or both? What is your budget?

The 00 SiR motor is a B16A2 which is completely different from the Si (canadian) motor which is a d-series.

well i'm gunna be changing almost all internals anyways, its gunna be a slow build (inc. valves, pistons, rods, etc.)

oh and my budget will be quite generous.. i'm gunna be workin @ rogers all summer w/ common 12-hour shifts pkging phones whoooo

For 400$ you can find an ls-vtec. Build that and boost. It will require less psi from the turbo to make the same power.
Btw. Power goals should be measured in hp not psi
Imo its not worth it. Also doing extensive ammount of head work is not needed on a b16. It flows very well and for your power goals I would be confident in saying you do not need anything more. Hell to be honest you don't even need to build the block. A near 300hp car will suffice on the street and it will be reliable in stock form. If you are aiming for higher numbers, a build bottom end with a stock head will still be damn good for 400whp marker.

I honesty want to be in this game like alot of the guys/ladies here. Work done by yourself and parts bought as inexpensive as possible without losing the parts integrity.
So spend wisely and stretch your dollar. Plan your build and the cheapest road to get there. Don't through cash at some phucked out part.

Not to seem like that douche bag voice of reason, but throwing cash at a car is not the best idea as they don't hold any value of the money you spent.

well... yeah i know, but really i don't care about how the value holds up.. i just wanna enjoy my car while i can you know... life's not guaranteed... why not boost it
but yeah, i agree 100% i'm gunna keep an eye out for a more reliable engine in the future, thanks every1... saved me from wasting money

If all you're after is around 200whp, you can buy and build a very reliable non-vtec b18b1 (LS) motor swap that will put you right in the pocket, for not a lot of money.
The more power you want to make the more money you'll have to spend. So if 200whp with a b-series is your goal, you won't have to spend a fortune if you go turbo.
