Wheel Spacer

So these little plates can widen your wheel base, make your car looks wider and corner better....

Is it worth the hassle to do it?

No no no...

placing the wheel further out gives it more leverage on the susp, which means more forces going to the susp and chassis... that is bad... it's like having those low-rider rims on your Civic In addition, you'll be breakin and bending susp parts left and right. Don't do it!! Not to mention blowing shocks... that's a show thing, not a daily driver thing.

I never liked the look of tires sticking out. To get better cornering work on the suspension and most importantly get better tires.

but does that mean all the stuff taht it says on this(H&R page on wheel spacers) page is wrong?

for u lazy asses, this is an excerpt from the page
This simple modification increases lateral stability, which in turn provides improved handling, greater safety and of course, the sleek style you've been looking for.

ya this is a pretty old topic... but i was seroiusly considering using just 5mm spacers with my 00 sir rims, just to take up that li'l extra wheel gap so it's flush with the body.

is it really THAT BAD an idea????????? it's just 5mm, and it's not like the rims will be protuding outside the fender.
