Actually we've discussed taking care of the V.W. last year before Darknight's but didn't have a chance since I went to Europe. . Hey I don't care who's first and sec. I just want to take care of it this year!

i usually do the usual washing with a good auto wash detergent and do a 3 step process. every sping i do the following

pre wax cleaner, get rid of old oxidation grease and oil that the wash couldn't. i've used mother's and maguire's i prefer the mother's. depending on how bad and dull the paint looks, i may do this twice.

next i use an glaze sealer. the sealer fills and smooths the fine scratchs and give a high gloss look. i've use mother's and maguire's as well. i found the mother's easier to apply and remove and get great results. i do this twice.

lastly, the glaze will oxidize quickly so you need to put a wax or polish. i've use mother's and maguire's carnuba wax. they are about the same, unless u buy the really expensive maguire's carnuba wax. for the polish i use liquid glass. liquid glass is expensive but it is amazing. for the rest of the year i only polish or wax, usually 8 coats for the rest of the year (mostly polish).

by the end of the year, the car would have seen at least 10 coats of glaze/wax/polish.
