Waxing question

Does anyone know what the best wax is to use for a cars first waxing on a new paint job

like one that will protect it the most and give it a very high gloss finish

thanx!

(need to protect my baby especially with the nasty UV rays/rain and **** coming up....)

I'd use Mothers 3 stage or Meguire's 3 stage.

You need to get all three bottles and wax the car 3 times with each component.

I use mothers, don't know why, I mught try meguires....

I have the first 2 stages in Mothers.
And the wax is Meguires, since the Mother's was too expensive.

I don't know if this is OK to do, but it seems to work pretty well, so Mix&Match between companies is OK I guess.

Good morning Mako,

If the paint job is new and done right you wouldn't need a cleaner wax .

I would sugggest to put two good coats of a quality carnuba wax and that should be a good starting point for preventative maintanance.

With two good full coats it should help to strengthen the paint

Question why not meguiar's all 4?

I use a Meguiar's 4 stage job.
Takes almost a day though. From 2pm-8pm the last time i did it in my garage. But then again, my cars are both black, paint's great and i'm a perfectionist.

1. Meguiar's Scratch X- Works great for fine scratches, can also be used to take the previous wax coating off.

2. Meguair's Paint Cleaner- Cleans the paint, removing surface marks from bird ****, water drops and other **** that's built up on top of the clearcoat.

3. Meguiar's Polish- Gives dark colours or pearl paints a deeper look I guess. If you've got a deep black, this ****'s the ****!

4. Meguiar's Gold Class Wax or Mirror Glaze- The Gold Class Wax is great, after my bottle ran out, I decided to step up to their Professional series and now using "Mirror Glaze."

Hope this helps, but prepare to spend a lot of $$$ unless you got hookups or joook-ups

I waxed my car 2 weeks ago for the first time after 3 years of purchasing... I realise it is too late but still helps.

I use Mothers (just got the car wash shampoo, and the wax)
