Shaving side moundlings...Please Read

hey guys

a have a quick question. I have a 98 ek hatch that is going in the shop to be painted at the end of the month, and i am also having the side mouldings shaved and back plate moulded in

My question is: Has anyone had any problems with the side mouldings after they have been shaved, like cracking? Our friend of the family who has a shop is convinced that in the sunlight or over some time that the side mouldings that have bee nshaved will crack. Is this true? Has anyone had difficulty with these? Please tell me so i can have it done already, and have them stop bitching at me

and also, with the back plate moulded in, will that crack either

thanx

if you use fiber glass it will last a little longer than body filler but in time the fiber glass will crack as well but it all depends on how they prep the car and how they apply the fiber glass or bondo.
