Shaving side moundlings...Please Read
hey guys
a have a quick question. I have a 98 ek hatch that is going in the shop to be painted at the end of the month, and i am also having the side mouldings shaved and back plate moulded in My question is: Has anyone had any problems with the side mouldings after they have been shaved, like cracking? Our friend of the family who has a shop is convinced that in the sunlight or over some time that the side mouldings that have bee nshaved will crack. Is this true? Has anyone had difficulty with these? Please tell me so i can have it done already, and have them stop bitching at me and also, with the back plate moulded in, will that crack either thanx |
if u just use fiberglass and bondo yes
|
if you use fiber glass it will last a little longer than body filler but in time the fiber glass will crack as well but it all depends on how they prep the car and how they apply the fiber glass or bondo.
|
i think he is going to sheet metal it and then put filler in behind it... that sound right?
|
just curious ow much is a full car paint job?
|
hey is that your car in the pic...the yellow ek hatch??
or is that how you want you car to look?? |
I have mine shaved.....they are welded in with metal.....no problems at all!......just make sure whoever is doing it is experienced in doing so because alot of the time its is cheese work, or it will be all waveyand shyt! good luck man
