shaving rain gutters...

a good idea or not....i have heard this is a flex point in the car and the welded in metal will cause problems??!?!?

on a hatchback (well looking at my 5th gen) it's the black stripping that goes down the sides of the roof from the front to the back to help water drain off... or something like that ...


shaving them... depends on how you wanna do it....

bondo'ing them up will leave cracks the first time you get in the car, close the door and hit a bump...if u weld them up you will have no problems except water coming over the sill of the door when u open the door while its raining...I wouldnt shave em because of the wetness part...but if welded up then u will have no problems with flex etc

dont do it, trsut me i had a fully shaved 4th gen ef.....wen it rains it gets in the car and if u got the window open a tiny crack u get soaked.....not worth it.....i went crazy on my 4th gen hatch and shaved the rear wiper,all lock holes,rain gutters,door handles, wiper nipples on the hood, and i was gonna do the gas cap next but i wrecked the car....lol..but wordof advice from own experience,dont do it

I agree with the drippage part... Saturns come with no rain gutters, and it always drips on the seat and on you

they should put eavestroughs and down spouts on cars so u stay nice and dry when u open the door
